NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 5: See Adam Levine, Blake Shelton pose in new poster

On Monday, September 23 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, a show that has started to overtake “American Idol” in dominance in “The Voice” is coming back on the air, and for the show’s first poster, NBC is desperate to make it clear that the original gang is very much back together and ready for more.

In the poster below (which comes to us via Entertainment Weekly), you can see the original crew of coaches in Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green all back together with big smiles on their faces. While we liked the Usher / Shakira experiment for the most part last year, there is also a certain amount of appreciation that we have for the original gang. Christina is always game to bring a little drama, while Cee Lo consistently tends to bring a little bit of the crazy to the show.

Meanwhile, there are a few random observations that we have after looking at this:

1. Why does Christina look not only like she was added to the picture in post-production, but at an angle while the other three guys are all fixated straight?

2. Is Adam Levine going to keep the very manly beard that he is sporting here for the entire season? Here’s to hoping. (Team Beard for the win!)

3. Why are you making Cee Lo, who is already the shortest guy of the bunch, sit down for his photo?

4. Adam and Blake clearly took their shot together, which is kind of sweet. (Aw.) Maybe Adam is secretly plotting a way to knock Blake down in the photo shoot and lock him in the room, that way another coach can finally win this competition again.
