‘Bones’ season 9 spoilers: Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz tease story ahead in new video

Are you ready to see more of “Bones” in action? Well, Fox is being extra-generous today, and giving us a first look at some of what we can expect when the show starts up its ninth season beginning on Monday, September 16.

First of all, let’s just take a moment here to marvel at the sole fact that the show has been on for nine seasons. That is a long, long time for anything to be on the air, especially on a network in Fox that does not have many long-running drama series. The video below gives you an opportunity to marvel more at the show’s success, mostly in that you realize that the gang has literally aired on almost every night of the week. When they get to later in this fall, they could even air on Friday nights so long as there are no cancellations somewhere else.

Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz promise that there will be a good bit of excitement in the episodes ahead, in addition to a little bit of gore. While they are not so keen to share a ton of details on the very subject of story, allow us to do so instead: The season will pick up where we left off in terms of the possible wedding going terribly awry, and Booth has to go to some drastic lengths to figure out what he is going to do. A former priest from his past may play a part in this, as could Brennan managing to figure something out on her own that Booth is acting rather strange.

Meanwhile, expect a new occupation for Sweets, some exciting new cases themed around everything from a couples’ retreat to shocking murders, and of course plenty of fun. This is a show that knows itself very well at this point, so do not expect there to be a sudden desire to change things up.
