In our 2013 MTV Videos Music Awards coverage so far, we have written about a myriad of things that include performances, Miley Cyrus dancing around with oversized teddy bears, and also Lady Gaga basically showing off the complete evolution of her performances so far.
But what this article is really all about is the individual winners of the show, which include everyone from country artists to rock stars. It was also clear pretty early on during the night that this was going to be a rather big one for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, who have taken the music scene by storm.
Best Collaboration – Pink, “Just Give Me a Reason” ft. Nate Ruess of fun.
Best Rock Video – 30 Seconds to Mars, “Up in the Air”
Best Pop Video – Selena Gomez, “Come and Get It”
Hip-hop Video – Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, “Can’t Hold Us”
Best Female Video – Taylor Swift, “I Knew You Were Trouble.” (Can we just take a moment to comment on how much Taylor is verging on self-parody by thanking the guy who inspired this song in her speech?)
Video with a Message – Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, “Same Love”
Vanguard Award – Justin Timberlake, which you can read some more about here
Song of the Summer – “Best Song Ever,” One Direction. (Seriously? “Blurred Lines” is the song of the summer.)

Video of the Year – Justin Timberlake, “Mirrors”
