ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 3: Emily VanCamp shows gratitude for role
While Emily VanCamp may be a rising star in Hollywood right now, she does not seem at all to be losing sight of where she comes from or how grateful that she is for a role that really allowed her to expand her craft beyond all of the roles that she was previously getting offered to play.
During a new interview with Nylon Magazine, VanCamp primary expressed her gratitude to the folks at “Revenge” by saying that there were other people that they could have hired for the Emily Thorne role in an effort to pull in larger ratings; however, they went with her instead:
“They could’ve hired someone with a bigger name [for ‘Revenge’] and banked on that. They took a chance on me, and it’s brought on a whole new collection of opportunities.”
In the end, we imagine that “Revenge” is more than pleased with their choice. VanCamp has shined in the Emily role, and while season 2 had its fair share of flaws, none of them were related in any way, shape or form with her performance. She has had an opportunity to do everything from elaborate action scenes to drama to plenty of romance. Based on what we are hearing now, season 3 is going to be the steamiest one yet for the show. Emily’s actions are going to take her eventually to a wedding that airs during the fall premiere, but it is one that (spoiler alert!) leads to her taking a bullet while wearing her white dress, at least according to a promo recently released by ABC.
The new season of “Revenge” premieres on ABC on Sunday, September 29, and it will be that time that we finally have an opportunity to see just what Emily brings to the world of the show next.
