When the season 1 finale for “Under the Dome” airs on Monday, September 16, we are likely going to be seeing a certain side of Mike Vogel’s Barbie that was briefly touched on at the beginning of the series…. the bad boy.
The photo to the left is actually from the penultimate episode on September 9, and it clearly shows Barbie in a pretty bad place. The character is handcuffs courtesy of Sheriff Linda (Natalie Martinez), and it’s possible that some of his past actions are going to be coming back to haunt him in a pretty big way. Is Big Jim to blame for this or will Maxine be his undoing? We certainly would not put it past Big Jim right now, given that we already know very well that Dean Norris’ character is a particularly crafty sort.
What we can say right now about the ending of season 1 is that don’t expect the Stephen King book to be any sort of resource at all to help you figure out what is going to happen in the finale: The show is not exactly planning to rely too heavily on the book. Executive producer Neal Baer tells TV Guide that the ending this summer is going to be “different,” which hardly shocks us given that this show has thirteen episodes at least to air next summer, and it could be even more successful depending on how many people catch up on the series in the time that it is off the air.
What do you think is going to happen to Barbie? As always, we want to hear some of your theories below! You can check out a preview for Monday’s episode at this link, and we will have more news as it becomes available.
