‘Parks and Recreation’ season 6 spoilers: ‘Orphan Black’s’ Tatiana Maslany to romance…
Clearly, network television has finally caught on to what should be a fact: Tatiana Maslany is awesome. Her snub from the Emmys is the biggest of the year, given that her work in “Orphan Black” is universally acclaimed, and she already has a Critics’ Choice TV Award under her belt for the role.
But for her latest challenge, Maslany has decided to venture more towards something that she has an experience with dating all the way back to her childhood: Comedy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will appear in two episodes of “Parks and Recreation” season 6 as a new love interest for Aziz Ansari’s character of Tom. For him, this marks an opportunity to move on after a pretty terrible relationship for much of the spring portion of this past year. We can’t really say that this one will probably end any better, and given that Tatiana clearly already has a job that leaves her very fulfilled, we can’t imagine that this one will end a whole lot better.
This is some more good news for the NBC series, which really just needs as much of a pick-me-up as possible to try and wash away the sadness from the recent news that both Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones are not going to be a part of the show beyond this year. Maslany joins what is an incredible roster of guest stars for the upcoming season, which includes such grade-A talent as Sam Elliott, Kristen Bell, Billy Eichner, and more. The show needs this sort of heavy lifting from its guest cast, given that the new season has the challenge of airing up against “The Big Bang Theory” at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday nights.
