‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 4: The Jonas Brothers contribute something extra

CBS -With “Hawaii Five-0” premiering this year on CBS Friday, September 27, the producers and the network are doing everything that they can to make this into a special occasion … including for the people in Hawaii.

In case you missed the news recently, Nick Jonas is going to be guest-starring on an upcoming season 4 episode of the procedural, where he will be taking on the role of a computer hacker who plays a part in the case. Now, the network has confirmed that one day before the premiere on September 26, the Jonas Brothers are going to perform at the iconic Sunset on the Beach in Waikiki following the show’s screening of the premiere for the home crowd. This marks the band’s first-ever performance in Hawaii, which is somewhat surprising given that they have toured the entire world.

In a statement, here is what executive producer Peter Lenkov had to say about this particular booking, and also showing the premiere on Waikiki’s enormous screen:

“Sunset on the Beach in Waikiki is all about the fans, and we couldn’t think of a better way to say mahalo than premiering our show again at this beautiful venue … This year we are excited to take it up a notch and have the Jonas Brothers do their first-ever performance in Hawaii at our premiere! We know fans will enjoy this very special night.”

This is all yet another smart component of CBS really trying to make this show on Friday nights into an event, and not just something that is being shifted there for lower ratings or to fill a spot. They really want to see the show dominate, and it could given that it will no longer have direct competition from “Castle.”

What do you think about this idea, and are you thrilled to see CBS really promoting this show rather than letting it swim in shark-infested waters? Be sure to share below.
