‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ finale review: Vicki Gunvalson’s party scene

Real Housewives of Orange CountyIs it just us, or do the vast majority of “Real Housewives of Orange County” finales more or less end up going the same exact way? You have some sort of glamorous event that gets all of the women together, and then they spend much of their time screaming at other and saying various objectionable things.

Did this happen again tonight? You better believe it. The source of the conflicts ranged from a variety of different places. Gretchen Rossi and Tamra Barney, for example, have had tension bubbling over for several months now, and it is starting to revert back to the relationship that they used to have before they reconciled and became friends again. We actually find this state to be the most entertaining: They’re not re-hashing the same old fights all the time, and there’s never a dull moment with them pretending to get along … love it.

But Vicki Gunvalson? Man, she makes it hard sometimes to be sympathetic. We agree that no man should ever disrespect a woman like Slade did on a radio show, but we don’t know why she acted so shocked. It’s a radio show; that’s what these guys get paid to do time and time again. The fact that she tried to turn the whole incident into an on-air promotion for her bacon vodka was proof that she is an emotionless robot who is more interested in the bottom line, plus, who wants vodka that tastes like bacon? Lydia McLaughlin got in on this too, mostly because she didn’t like being told on the show that she needed to eat a cheeseburger.

Basically, we’re set up perfectly for the reunion show: There are some alliances, but nobody is really getting along that well. This means there will be arguments, and we don’t foresee much hugging with Andy Cohen at the end.
