AMC’s ‘The Killing’ season 3 finale spoilers: How could this story end?

How should it end?On Sunday night, we are going to see the end play out to the latest chapter of AMC’s “The Killing,” and there are of course a number of questions that come with that. For one, is this story going to have a satisfying conclusion, and one that the fans have been eagerly clamoring for? Will the killer be caught? Will Holder clean up his act? You can probably see what we’re getting at here, in that there are quite a few things that people are clamoring for some sort of answer for.

The biggest tease that we can give from these very-secret two hours is that there will be some sort of resolution, one way or another, to the mass murders that are at the center of the show. Bullet will be avenged, and the spirit of Ray Seward should be able to rest with a little bit of peace. There is not going to be any more massive cliffhanger with a show that may or may not return.

As for the road to getting there, expect to see Linden and Holder finding a new rhythm, the police station in some ways becoming a battlefield, and for all of the remaining street kids (in particular Lyric) to play an important role.

Now, should this show return for a fourth season? Definitely. This was a major step up in quality, even if it was at times rather depressing. We would just be surprised if it is, given that this past episode drew just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic in a time slot where “The Walking Dead” has literally drawn ratings that are ten times this. It’s just not a show meant to attract a big audience, even if it has loyal viewers.

How do you see AMC’s “The Killing” ending? We want to hear some of your thoughts below, and you can watch a preview, and also see why we think “Six Minutes” is the best episode of TV from the past week, over at the link here.
