‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15 spoilers: Who will be joining Mariska Hargitay
We don’t quite know what is more impressive at this point: That “Law & Order: SVU” has still managed to stay on the air despite being a decade and a half old (which is forever in TV-speak), or that the show has found a way to retain Mariska Hargitay, which is something that must not have been a particularly easy thing to do in a day and age where almost anyone and everyone is working to move on to the supposedly-bigger and better thing (which is often fools’ gold).
So fresh off of the news from earlier this summer that Hargitay would be returning for more as Olivia Benson, it only feels appropriate that the following question also be asked: Are we also going to be seeing more of Dean Winters, as well?
As it turns out, we have a very confident answer here in “yes.” As TVLine reports, we will be seeing Winters’ role of Brian Cassidy actually be one of the people responsible for tipping off the proper people over Benson’s radio silence. Things were looking beyond bad for her at the end of last season, which is why there were so many questions about whether or not the character would be back. Producers had crafted themselves a clever little way to make a cliffhanger for a number of reasons, and it proved to be the perfect way to get people excited; even though we know that Benson will be back, we still don’t know the “how” part of the equation.
Are you glad to be seeing more of Winters in the premiere?

I wish they had never kept Brian after that one episode where he returned. they are not good together and frankly he adds nothing to the show. I hope they get rid of him really soon.

Cassidy can go to hell. Never liked him. WTF are these writers thinking? A good for nothing cop is Benson’s true love? COME ON!!!

The writers could have make seem that Elliot did said goodbye to Olivia but they choose not to do it and now people don’t like him because he did not said goodbye to Olivia. NOT VERY REALISTIC ON THE WRITTERS PART. And what about Elliot sending Olivia a medal so valuable that a father would have probably gave it to his son not his partner.

I don’t care about the Cassidy character enough to care if he’s on the show at all. I’ve never had a problem with him before (like his season eps) but as for now, he’s almost a different person and I definitely don’t get the relationship that’s supposedly going on between he and Olivia. I think everyone knows who most fans would be truly glad to see, but I’m not going to beg.

I like Dean/Cassidy so yes I’m happy he still has a part but I want character development for the rest of the squad so I’m hoping he won’t be around too much. And as for Olivia I’m hoping she gets away from the Beast in one piece & ‘mostly’ untouched and that’s for the same reason as mentioned above – I don’t want it to be the Olivia show. It was enough with the El & Liv show, I like the new squad. No, I love the new squad/show.

I agree with you to some extent. I’m not asking for Brian to appear in every single episode, though it’d be nice to see him in a few (like a mid-season episode and the finale, like last year). I’m also VERY intrigued by Danny and Kelli’s characters. I’m hoping to learn more about their pasts too. Also hope we see more Munch. :D

I wish people would stop going on and on about Stabler returning. He ISN’T returning. Chris has his own show now, and SVU is the last thing on his mind. Move the hell on. Brian loves Olivia, and he never stopped loving her. Brian is the ONLY person who’s never betrayed or hurt Olivia. It just took her fourteen years to realize that they were meant to be. Yes, they’ve had their share of issues. Both have MAJOR trust issues because they’ve been burned in the past. If they can work out those issues, everything will be fine. I hope that whatever happens in the premiere is a HUGE eye opener for both Benson and Cassidy. That they realize how short life truly is, and they realize how much they truly love each other.

She didn’t realize ANYTHING. I think she only kissed him in that hospital because she felt guilty and responsible for him getting shot. And this might just be one of those mercy relationships, ya know? If he hadn’t had gotten shot then they probably wouldn’t have gotten together.

Please bring back Stabler in some way, they could have an entire episode about how Stabler goes back to where he used to work because he was tired of waiting for results then runs into Oliva and she wants to see how Stabler has been doing. She sees he hasn’t gotten over that shooting and we find out one of his kids were killed a few months earlier (in another state) and that case went cold and somehow the case Oliva is on at that moment has evidence that the person who killed Stablers kid is the same person of that case that went cold. This gives Stabler his motivation to figure out why his kid was killed etc etc.

I wish Stabler coming back and saving Benson. Now that’d be a season opener. I am just so over Cassidy. I just don’t want to see or hear about him anymore!!! I hope the writers kill him off! Hope Chris Meloni return as Elliot Stabler. Everyone knows El and Liv are supposed to be together!! >>> TRUE LOVE!

I wish (I know how unrealistic it is) that Stabler could come back and rescue her. Even if he’s just guest starring for the one show.

Hell no. She dumped Brian in season 1 after a one night stand. It should have ended there.

THANK YOU!!! Finally someone is thinking sensibly. I don’t get this whole Cassidy nonsense, especially after he’s been undercover screwing hookers for the last 3 years! Olivia is waaaaaay to classy for him!

Yea but people like you say El isn’t good enough for Liv like she’s some sort of saint but now she isn’t so she can be with Cassidy? Hyprocrite much?

Don’t put words in my mouth. :) I’ve NEVER said Elliot isn’t good enough for Olivia. I’ve said he doesn’t deserve Olivia because he left her without a simple goodbye. Lol, get your facts straight before you make assumptions.

Yes :). I hate Bensidy. I’m so sick of all of this “Olivia and Brian” nonsense. It has gotten out of hand.

I agree. I didn’t mind Cassidy but putting him with Olivia has always been a no. A ons should have stayed that way.

Very excited to see more Dean. Hope to see more of his all season. Things definitely aren’t sounding good for Liv in the premiere, and I hope that Brian will be there in full support for her.
