‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: Exec on the current Big Bad situation

Everyone likes choices from time to time, right? Well at the moment, the folks behind the scenes on “Arrow” really do have plenty of them when it comes to villains. We were worried about what losing John Barrowman and Jessica de Gouw was going to do when it comes to chipping away at Oliver Queen’s core, but the good news is that there will be just as many familiar baddies as ever this time around. The only difference? Some of the evil-doers he will be running into this season have a different set of priorities.

While Slade Wilson and Deadshot are returning, Isabel Rochev, Sebastian Blood, and Bronze Tiger are the new faces turning up this year, and of this crew (which could potentially include more villains that have yet to be announced), executive producer Marc Guggenheim claims per TV Guide that only two are actually going to stand out and steal the limelight for an extended period of time:

“Our two Big Bads of the year, we know what their endgame and master plan is. [They’ll both] feel like they’re acting from a righteous place. They will cross paths, and there’s a Venn diagram in terms of their goals and in the diagram, there is overlap.”

So who will these two villains be? Right now, Deadshot clearly has a large narrative thanks to his past with Diggle, but you also cannot forget that Manu Bennett is a series regular this year and we’re sure that this will end up being very important.
