‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: New details on a Dubrovnik set

“Game of Thrones” has called Croatia home for many years now when it comes to recreating some moments in the powerful city of King’s Landing, but it already looks like this season, it will also play host to a pretty significant event. (We’ll let you speculate on what this said event is in the comment box below.)

In a new post on Twitter, a reporter in Dubrovnik confirmed that the HBO show is hard at work right now building a set in the abandoned hotel Belvedere. There is something a little bit unusual in the process here, with one of the primary reasons for that being that the show typically chooses to have most of their sets located on their Northern Ireland sound-stages, that way they can use other countries strictly for some location shots. (Granted, it’s possible that this massive set may not be featured as much as we would initially figure.)

What we are seeing above all else is that for the entire month of July, production really is working like gangbusters to get everything done as quickly as possible. We have already seen filming take place throughout the southern part of Iceland featuring Maisie Williams and Gwendoline Christie, and there have also been actors spotted in the Belfast area. Filming has not actually started on Dubrovnik yet, as that is something that will be a little bit more concentrated in the weeks ahead when some of the actors free up.
