‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ preview: Vicki Gunvalson does not like Slade’s show
When it comes to radio deejays, it is best to say that you never quite know what you are going to get. While some of them, including the dearly departed Kidd Kraddick, are genuinely good guys who try to mix humor with a desire to do good for others. Then, you have some guys who are jaded, snarky, and seem to lash out in order to get attention, possibly because they wanted to rise up to the next ladder on the deejay rung.
We don’t exactly think of Slade Smiley as your everyday deejay, but based on the preview below for Monday night’s “Real Housewives of Orange County” episode, he seems to be trying to adopt more of the latter personality with his radio work. The only thing more ridiculous than what you are about to see is the mere fact that there is a radio show out there called “Radio Slade.”
First of all, it’s hard to feel sympathetic for Vicki Gunvalson for two reasons here: She knew that she was going to hear something nasty from Slade in tuning into his show, and yet she decided to do it anyway. What would possess someone to make this kind of decision? Then, she also combats his comment of “tupperware face” (which was not actually directed at anyone, but still awful nonetheless) by calling him the “Devil.” Meanwhile, Alexis Bellino and Lydia McLaughlin try to calm her down with compliments, telling her that the swelling on her face has gone down, and to not be so crazy as read anything substantial into what Slade is saying on the show. After all, we doubt that anyone else is taking him seriously.
Sometimes, you gotta take the criticism and move on, and given the hate Vicki probably gets on Twitter regularly (along with most of these other women), you have to have a pretty thick skin.
Did you know that this episode Monday also has a romantic theme? If you head on over to the link here, you can read a little bit more news when it comes to a proposal that will be happen very soon involving Slade and Gretchen Rossi.
