‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: Comic-Con panel includes In Memoriam, more

Game of Thrones

The “Game of Thrones” season 4 panel at Comic-Con is certainly huge, and that may be one of the biggest understatements out there. Thousands piled in to the enormous Hall H in order to have an opportunity to see some of these actors up close, and it included everyone from the Emmy-nominated Peter Dinklage and Emilia Clarke, to Richard Madden and Michelle Fairley.

We have to start things off here with the sad way in which the show kicked off the panel: With the “In Memoriam” package featuring all of the major characters who died over the first few years. The biggest cheers were for the Starks, but there were also some other great moments including the infamous “crown for a king” at the hands of Drogo back in season 1.

It also took little time to find out that Peter Dinklage is a god to most of these people. He arrived to a standing ovation, and he received enormous cheers almost anytime that he said anything, including how he doesn’t read ahead in the scripts just so that he does not find out information before he wants to.

In terms of random cameos, Jason Momoa showed at one point and randomly proclaimed that he was not dead, which led to Emilia screaming “my sun and stars.” Pure hilarity. One of the biggest thrills was seeing John Bradley (Sam) in attendance, as he offered up the following about his character’s journey in comparison to some of the others:

“Sam lived in his mind for so long. He’s an academic. He’s got an amazing curiosity about how things work.”

For some other specific scoop, Rose Leslie also made it clear that she believes the story with Ygritte and Jon Snow is far from over … and we very much hope that is right, given that this story has been changed somewhat already from the books.
