‘The Bachelor’: Has Desiree Hartsock castoff Zak Waddell entered the running?

Zak W.

If there is one thing that we have learned about “The Bachelor” and their casting process over the years, it is that things can change on the fly depending on America’s gut reactions. For example, start things off here by flashing back to Ashley Hebert’s season. Did you really think that we were going to see Ben Flajnik handing out roses into the finale? We didn’t. Meanwhile, we weren’t sure about Sean Lowe’s chances early on, either, during Emily Maynard’s season, mostly because his edit early was “I have abs!” and nothing else.

But could Zak Waddell really go from “I have abs 2.0” to being the next guy to star on the show? We know that ABC loves casting leads from the Dallas area for whatever reason, and he definitely fits that bill and has that down-home charm. He’s also a musician, and he may still be trying to slowly reclaim the hobby after West destroyed it a little while back.

As of right now, we would put Zak as #2 on the leading man power rankings out of people on Desiree Hartsock’s season, at least so long as Drew Kenney gets eliminated. He could rise to the top if Drew wins, since Chris Siegfried isn’t getting that much of a story and Brooks Forester may be a little too hesitant about commitments. The biggest threat that all of these guys have to worry about right now is that someone like Jef Holm from Emily Maynard’s season could sneak in and take it, given that he is likable, and viewers remember him very well.

What do you think: Do you want to see Zak showing off his abs on TV again next year? If you want to also see this week’s edition of the tabloids taking “Bachelorette” rumors way out of control, just be sure to visit the link here.
