‘The Bridge’ episode 2 preview: Where do Sonya and Marco go from here?
On Saturday, we made it rather clear that we were major fans of “The Bridge,” so much so that we chose to name the pilot episode our Episode of the Week. It combines some of the dark themes with some elements of “Breaking Bad” and “Homeland,” and has already established for itself some very interesting lead characters despite only being on TV a short amount of time.
Thus far, we have learned already that the primary victims are a pair of bodies that were presented on the bridge between America and Mexico, but this traces possibly back to a series of brutal murders that are occurring across Juarez. This second episode will expound on Sonya and Marco’s investigation from the premiere, as the two also learn to deal with each other and their very different methods in addition to trying to figure out just who is the killer. This second episode airing on Wednesday night is entitled “Calaca,” which for those curious is a sort of skeleton or skull used for Mexico’s Day of the Dead celebration. For more, just check out the full synopsis below:
“Marco and Sonya investigate the body from the bridge. Frye learns that the Killer isn’t done with him. Charlotte makes an unwelcome discovery on her property.”
So far, we have very high hopes for the rest of the season. The performances so far are certainly beyond solid, and if we continue to see a murder investigation as interesting as this one has been, we are probably in store for a great summer.
