‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 spoilers: Brendan Coyle, others hit the beach

For those of you who love all things “Downton Abbey,” you will be pleased to know that yet again, the ITV period drama is going to feature some of the characters in a new environment for season 4; and this time, it will be at the beach.

This news was confirmed thanks to a number of people who were on the scene recently in West Wittering, who spotted people associated with the show working on production. Of course, there are not many quality photos out there, and due to our own policy over sharing set images, we’re not going to be posting any of them. Just let it be known that you are really not missing much, anyway; while it appears one of them contains Lily James (Rose) and Allen Leech (Tom Branson), it’s too hard to tell, given that you only see them from their backside.

The only person that we can actually confirm at the moment being at the beach is Brendan Coyle, mostly because he stopped at one point to take a picture with a fan.

This beach locale joins the London “club scene” (which was very different in the 1920s than the club scene that we would talk about today) and also a lake / river as some of the new settings for the show this year, which is trying once again to tell a ridiculously dense story over what we in America would see as a very small amount of episodes. (Then again, this is practically a marathon compared to the run of “Sherlock” or “Luther.”)
