‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 4 spoilers: Meet a new face for the premiere

Hawaii Five-0The season premiere of “Hawaii Five-0” officially began filming today in the island state, and we also now have some good news to go along with it: News on just who is the latest new addition to the show’s guest cast.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Chi McBride (best known, at least from our standpoint, for “Pushing Daisies” and “Human Target”) will appear in multiple episodes of the series as a character that actually appeared in the original version of the show. Want to know more? Then just check out the official description of the role courtesy of executive producer Peter Lenkov:

“It’s always fun to dig back into Five-0 mythology and resurrect a character — and in this case, Chi McBride plays SWAT Captain Lou Grover … Recently transferred to Hawaii from Chicago, Grover isn’t easily sold on Five-0′s tactics, referring to the task force as: ‘McGarrett and his merry band of do-whatever-the-hell-they-want.’ What Five-0 does conflicts with Grover’s own style of law enforcement. And that creates good conflict, so prepare for some combustive tension between the two this season.”

We’re still very much of the belief that “Hawaii Five-0” really needs as much help as it can get right now, especially when you consider everything that is going on with the schedule change. Friday nights at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time is not exactly where shows go to survive on CBS, and this will be looking to buck that trend with some of these new changes.
