Based on most of what we’ve heard over the past several months, the cast and crew of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms are deep into season 2. HBO has indicated already that we will get back into Dunk and Egg’s world next year and of course, there is so much to be excited for with that in mind.

Given how much fun the show itself is, does that mean the cast is always having the best time? Well, not always — acting can be challenging, especially when you are finding yourself in unfamiliar territory. Based on what Peter Claffey is saying now about the story ahead, he is certainly feeling that.

Speaking (per Variety) at a recent event regarding the show, Claffey indicates that moving into the next chapter, “Dunk spends a lot of time on his own… It’s been a little bit isolating [to make]. It feels a little bit more difficult.” With that being said, the actor also notes that The Sword Sword, the basis for season 2, is actually his favorite of the George R.R. Martin novellas that are the basis for the show. That does make us think that there will be a chance to see a lot of really exciting stuff over the course of the season, whether it be humor, new relationships, or of course action.

In the midst of all of this, we do hope that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms does not drift too far from what made the first season such an enormous success. After all, it really excelled at making an immersive world for all of us to explore with some of these characters, one that did not require dragons to feel special.
