The Testaments season 2 premiere date: The best-case scenario

Of course, we would love nothing more than to see The Testaments season 2 arrive on Hulu in the relatively near future. With that being said, just how realistic do we need to be about when the show is back?

The good news for everyone wondering about The Handmaid’s Tale spin-off is that the writers have been working for a rather long time on the scripts. The hope is that filming is going to start off later this year, but that is far from confirmed and could always change.

So when we start to think about best-case scenarios for a season 2 premiere date, it has to be at some point in the late spring or early summer of 2027. We recognize that the producers want to move quickly; also, Hulu in general has tried to bring back their shows at relatively short intervals compared to some of their competition. They have managed to bring back shows like Only Murders in the Building and Paradise every single year, so why not do something similar here?

In the end, the most important thing here is that The Testaments is going to be back when it is ready. The last thing you do want is to hurry the process and deliver a second season that is of lesser quality. The first season proved to be pretty excellent from start to finish, managing to pack a lot of story and great performances into every episode. In some ways, you could even argue that it was better than some of the later seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale. We just have to sit back here and hope that the story stays strong.
