After the particularly painful story we had a chance to watch this week, will Dutton Ranch season 1 episode 5 instill any hope?
At present, there is no denying that Beth and Rip are certainly going through it. The massive culling of the cattle is something that will emotionally reverberate for some time, as it would with any human forced to do such a thing. They are still working through the aftermath and trying to get answers, while also recognizing that there is more that needs to be done in terms of keeping their business afloat.

This is where the two may have to turn to Beulah Jackson. Do they want to do that? Probably not, and there are still a million different reasons for them to not trust her. She is self-serving, after all, so any opportunity to work together has to be one where they can project some benefit. In other words, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s character can offer her something that she may not be able to get otherwise. Figuring out how to do that is the challenge, but these two are smart, resourceful, and above all else determined. Beulah may realize that she can’t quite get rid of them in any conventional manner.

One thing that is certainly worth noting here is that we are at the halfway point of the season. By virtue of that, we do tend to think that everything is only going to get so much more intense moving forward.
