Spider-Noir season 2: Is it renewed, canceled at Prime Video?
Following the big launch this week on Prime Video, is there a chance that a Spider-Noir season 2 happens? Or, are we at the end of the road with the story already?
Obviously, we recognize that there are plenty of people out there well-aware of Spider-Man, but what makes this show different? It is based on source material, but is not just trying to deliver what you have seen in so many other comic-book adaptations. The official logline makes that a little bit clearer:
“Spider-Noir” is a live-action series based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. “Spider-Noir” tells the story of Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), a seasoned, down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.

At the time of this writing, we should note that there is no official renewal for more. Yet, at the same time, there is still an element of hope. Here is at least some of what executive producer Oren Uziel had to say on that subject to The Hollywood Reporter:
“One of the magical things about any private detective story is, if you want another story, all it takes is another client to knock on that door, and then comes a new set of cases, a new set of problems and a new adventure to go one … So [it’s] conceived to be as many seasons as we want to go.”
From where we sit, this is going to be all about viewership but at the same time, we remain very much optimistic. It is hard not to be, all things considered! This is such a popular brand and thanks in part to some of the Spider-Verse movies, there is certainly an understanding that this story could go to all sorts of great places.
