Fire Country season 5: More on medical spin-off
When it comes to the world of Fire Country at CBS, of course there is quite a bit to look forward to these days! Not only do you have another season of it, but there is more of the Sheriff Country spin-off coming at the same time. This is without even mentioning the fact that there is another show coming within the world of medicine.
So how far along is the process of making this show happen? Well, there are no signs that it will be launching in the 2026-27 season. It also seems in general that Sheriff Country will be the launching bad for it, which makes even more sense when you consider the fact that it has more episodes and within that, more opportunities to tell stories.

Speaking to TV Insider recently on the process of making the new show happen, here is some of what Fire Country star and executive producer Max Thieriot had to say:
“I can say that we’re actively developing it all out, and me and Joan and Tony and Matt Lopez are sort of fleshing out all the story stuff daily. But I know we’re all really excited to hopefully get to bring to life the Fire and Sheriff version of what the medical world looks like in Edgewater.”
Of course it makes a lot of sense for the new show to happen, mostly just because of the blueprint that is out there for these sort of shows already. It really just comes down to nailing the concept so that CBS wants to pick it up. Just because of the wide array of content that they already have, they do not feel pressure to pick up any of their shows, regardless of if it is a part of a franchise or not.
