The Testaments season 1 episode 10 (finale): Did Becka survive, get married?

We knew entering the season 1 finale of The Testaments this week on Hulu that there were so many loose ends that we were left to wonder about — and a number of them were tied to Becka.

After all, in what universe would the Eyes willingly let her live after everything that transpired with her father’s death? As it turns out, the situation was a bit more complicated than it appeared on the surface. It also took a lot of people working together to some degree. Daisy and Agnes both tried to appeal to the Aunts individually, and we do think that this helped them at least start to formulate some plans as to what could be done here. Meanwhile, Agnes pleaded to Weston to do something and shockingly, he seemed to at least aid in a temporary release for her. However, there was a consequence: He broke off his engagement to Agnes, most likely due to what she admitted to him regarding Dr. Grove. It is sickening, but these are Commanders — sickening is often what you get.

Becka did find a way to survive, but it came at a cost — her mother confessed that she actually was the one who murdered Dr. Grove, which led to her being hanged. Meanwhile, Garth (after a plea from Agnes) opted to marry Becka, giving her a life that she would have never had otherwise due to some of the stigma now tied to her. Agnes re-enters the marriage cycle in an unprecedented way, something that Lydia tells her is going to be a challenge.

Meanwhile, we finally did have a moment between Becka and Agnes, as they shared a brief kiss prior to the former’s wedding. While Becka did not directly confess her feelings, the look on Agnes’ face almost suggested that deep down, she had known for some time.
