Is Last Week Tonight with John Oliver new tonight on HBO? Of course, we do not blame anyone out there who wants the series back, especially since there is certainly a great deal of conversation that can be had around current events.
Unfortunately, this is where we remind you that a little bit of patience is going to be required. Not only is Oliver’s late-night show off the air this weekend, but the host / comedian has not even been in New York City! He was recently spotted attending a Baltimore Orioles game with his family, which is tied in part to a longtime comedy bit revolving around his son’s favorite player leaving the Big Apple. (John himself has quite a history celebrating baseball in general, which dates back even before what we saw with the Moon Mammoths.)

So when will Last Week Tonight with John Oliver end up returning to the air? Well, this is where we can thankfully say that all things considered, the folks at the aforementioned network are not making you wait for too long. The plan at present is for the series to return with new episodes on May 31, which is going to air following the extended finale of Euphoria and then a repeat of Rooster. That episode is hopefully going to be one that allows us a chance to see a combination of evergreen content and topical humor.
In general, it is our feeling that there are going to be a number of new episodes of Oliver’s show over the course of the summer, though we also imagine that they are going to be interspersed with a number of repeats at the same exact time. This has been the real trend for this show going back for several years, so why would we imagine it changing at this point.
