Vought Rising teaser: See Jensen Ackles, Aya Cash in action

Now that the series finale of The Boys is out there, the folks at Prime Video today opted to officially set the stage for what’s next. With that, why not take a look at Vought Rising?

If you head over to the link here right now, you can see an official look at the new series, which is set in the 1950’s and further “explores the twisted origins of Vought International.” Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy) and Aya Cash (Stormfront / Liberty) are poised to star in the show which has also been described as a murder mystery in the past.

Perhaps the biggest thing that is striking about the teaser is the costuming, which does feel appropriate for the period setting. This is also a world where the public is still being introduced to the world of superheroes and we suppose that within that, there is room for some rather exciting things to take place.

Of course, the biggest challenge with a show like Vought Rising right now is getting people fully on board after a fairly polarizing fifth and final season for the flagship show. While we don’t think that the quality of the series finale is as bad as some review-bombers out there are making it out to be, those voices often do tend to be the loudest. The thing to hope for here is that the prequel can do almost what House of the Dragon season 1 or A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms managed to do to the larger Game of Thrones world — getting people fully excited about the franchise again after the original show ruffled some feathers.

It is worth noting that this may not necessarily be a limited series — with that, if enough people watch, there is certainly a chance that we will see more of it down the road.
