Survivor 50 finale: Jeff Probst accidentally spoils firemaking exit

Out of all the big moments we expected to see on the Survivor 50 finale, who would have thought Jeff Probst making a blunder would be one of them?
Well, what happened here was that Probst introduced Rizo as the final member of the jury before the fire-making challenge happened. It was such a shocking statement, which he later tried to joke about by saying that it was a “peek into the future.”

To be fair to Probst, this fire-making challenge was about as much of a blowout as we have ever seen in the history of the show. Rizo tried to practice leading up to the challenge but completely fell apart. Jeff just got a little ahead of himself — but how did he not have a voice in his ear screaming “no” at that very moment? (Honestly, we’re just guessing that some wires ended up being crossed as to when certain segments were going to be airing — there is a lot going on here, and this is also the first live finale that the show has done in a while.)
While Survivor may not be as momentous ratings-wise as it was during the early years, is this the most surprising live-TV moment since the All-Stars audience booed Jerri? We really cannot think of one off the top of our head where something just came out of left field like this.
In the end, there’s a chance that this may be one of the more defining moments of the entire finale event, especially since a lot of the most popular contestants were actually eliminated before we got to this point.
