Survivor 50 finale: Ranking the final five!

With the Survivor 50 finale coming to CBS now in under a week, what better time is there to talk top contenders? There are only five people left and yet, we’re honestly not sure all of them can win.
If you feel somewhat disappointed by the remaining roster, we more than understand. Losing Devens and Cirie in two straight Tribal Councils is awful, especially since the two of them were really the biggest standout players. Devens had the biggest moves, and Cirie was easily the best player throughout the season.

Yet, out of who is left, here is how we size them all up.
5. Joe – The only way he ever wins is if the rest of the players are enraged at the other members of the final three, and we just don’t see that. Joe remains a super-nice dude who just feels like he’s playing in the wrong era of the game. Maybe if this was one of the first four or five seasons of the show, he’d be a far better player. His style just doesn’t fly now.
4. Jonathan – We’ll give him some credit here, given that it does feel like he’s radically improved his game from the first time — he’s always been a challenge beast, but we’ve also seen him become flexible and more of a schemer when it benefits him. His problem is that post-merge, it is hard to really say that he has really steered the game or been the architect for enough moves.
3. Tiffany – This is the problem with editing on Survivor sometimes. It clearly feels on the outside looking in like Tiffany wins if she makes it to the end. However, the show has barely showcased her! The last immunity challenge, though, does show that the moment she loses, she is probably be voting out because of her threat level.
2. Rizo – This is where things get interesting. We hardly view the RizGod as a dominant player this year but at the same time, he does deserve some credit for the Cirie move, just as he did playing the Coach alliance earlier on. He’s also been really careful with his idol. If he makes it to the end, he has a legitimate argument.
1. Aubry – Yet, if we were to say that the edit is the most important thing about the season at this point, all signs point to an Aubry win. Tiffany is the likely target at final five and from there, she just needs to win an immunity or fire-making. If she gets out Rizo at four, it’s an easy win. Even against Rizo, she still has a case. She’s just become such a point-of-view personality after a slow start that it feels like the show is trying to explain how she takes home the title.
