The Lincoln Lawyer season 5 will be final one on Netflix

For those who are not aware, production on The Lincoln Lawyer season 5 has already kicked off for Netflix … but we also have some unfortunate news to share. Based on the latest statements from the parties involved, we are getting prepared for the final chapter.

Is this a bummer? Absolutely, especially when you consider the idea that this series is one that really could have lasted forever. However, the reality here is that most Netflix shows do not have that luxury, and a lot are lucky to make it past season 4. Series like Virgin River, which is entering its eighth chapter, are an exception more so than the rule.

Per TVLine, here is what co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez had to say:

“All good things must come to an end, but thankfully sometimes how they come to an end is up to us … From the very beginning, the mission was always not only to tell the story of Mickey Haller and his compatriots, but also to give that story a proper conclusion. And while it is of course bittersweet, it’s also an amazing opportunity to bring this adventure to a close and perhaps chart a new course for some of our characters into the future.

“We are immensely grateful to Netflix and A+E Studios for the opportunity to land this plane the right way. But most of all, we are grateful to the fans all around the world for watching and supporting the show … We promise you, we are right now building a final season that will provide the satisfying finale Mickey Haller deserves. We can’t wait to share it with you!”

Ultimately, our hope is that The Lincoln Lawyer will return with new episodes within the first half of next year and based on Cobie Smulders coming on board for a major arc, we do tend to think some great stories lie ahead.
