Ahsoka season 2 premiere date: New details from Disney+

We know that the wait for Ahsoka season 2 at Disney+ has been incredibly long — unfortunately, it does appear like it won’t be over anytime soon.

During Disney’s upfront presentation on Tuesday, it was reported (via Deadline) that the Rosario Dawson series is currently poised to come back in early 2027. This means that by the time we actually see Ahsoka Tano’s next adventure, it will be over three years since the arrival of season 1. We had previously hoped that season 2 could launch at some point this fall, but this does not appear to be possible.

So why the long wait here? Well, the primary culprit is likely just the amount of time needed to get a show like this ready. Ahsoka is big, epic, and expensive, and all indicators right now suggest that it will have an even grander scale than it did in season 1. This is basically an extended movie split up into several episodes, and is a little bit different from Daredevil: Born Again, another franchise show in Disney+, when it comes to both its style and post-production needs.

For those who are looking for some franchise action in advance of the show returning, there is still The Mandalorian & Grogu. Our hope is just that the wait for more of Dawson’s show is worthwhile given that this is a franchise still trying to find the right way to move forward. It had a stellar entry in Andor but despite all the critical acclaim, it has not been the same sort of commercial success as some of the other shows. Meanwhile, The Acolyte was canceled after just one season and while there was at one point conversation about more Obi-Wan Kenobi, it has been a long time since there was some substantial progress on that.

What do you want to see from Ahsoka season 2 when we do get it at Disney+?

Go ahead and let us know in the attached comments! Once you do just that, remember to also come back — there are more updates on the way.
