NCIS: Sydney season 4 premiere date hopes at CBS

After tonight’s finale, why wouldn’t you want to get an NCIS: Sydney season 4 premiere date over at CBS? Of course, this comes along with its own share of good and bad news.
What is the proper place to start? Well to us, it is rather simple: With a reminder that technically, the spin-off has been already renewed for another chapter! That is worth celebrating, but we are going to be waiting a good while to see what is next. The next batch of episodes is going to be ten total, which is smaller than what we got in the larger-than-ever season 3. Meanwhile, we are also not going to be seeing it arrive until we get around to midseason, which may mean we are left waiting until January, February, or even March. An exact date should be revealed in the fall.

So why the changes? Well, CBS has decided to scale down both NCIS: Sydney as well as the Origins prequel to make run for NCIS: New York, which will follow the flagship show at 9:00 p.m. through much of the 2026-27 TV season. A smaller order could mean more scarcity or demand, at least if you are looking at things through a positive lens.
The most important thing to us remains that there is still potentially that the Australian series could continue airing for some time still, largely because it appears to be relatively affordable and also a valuable stopgap for CBS in their schedule. This is a popular franchise still and while there have not been many chances to cross it over with other shows (we imagine that it is a logistical challenge), that potential is certainly still there. Even if it is just one character, wouldn’t it be fun to see! (Our dream scenario is that it is LL Cool J as Sam Hanna, mostly because it feels like someone finds a way to incorporate him into almost every show out there.)
What do you most want to see moving into NCIS: Sydney season 4 when it does arrive?
Be sure to share right now in the attached comments! Once you do just that, remember to also come back — there are some more updates ahead.
