9-1-1 season 9 episode 13 spoilers: More on Buck, Eddie road trip

As we prepare to see 9-1-1 season 9 episode 13 on ABC a little bit later this week, one thing does feel abundantly clear: We are getting a little bit of everything.

After all, the story of “Mother’s Boy” honestly feels like it is going to be rather fun and lighthearted — there is a road trip coming for Buck and Eddie! Who wouldn’t want to see these two having a great time? Unfortunately, the problem here is that whatever fun they have could be quickly interrupted by a perilous situation — one that leaves Buck missing and his life on the line.

Eddie and Buck’s flight back to Los Angeles is cancelled following the National Firefighter Games. Hoping to be home for Hen’s birthday, they decide a cross-country road trip is the fastest way, until they get offtrack and Buck goes missing.

If you ever needed some sort of larger reminder that the worst things possible consistently happen to members of the 118, this is it. These two can’t even have a road trip in piece! We obviously hope that Buck ends up okay, but what can be done in order to save him? Is he going to need to recover for some time after the fact?

Ultimately, remember that there are a handful of episodes still coming after the fact and with that, we will have at least some measure of time here to deal with the aftermath. (We also have a season 10 coming later on!)
