Outlander season 8: Diana Gabaldon on series conclusion

As so many of you may be aware at this point, Outlander season 8 is the final one over at Starz — but it is not the end of Jamie and Claire’s story! There is more coming from author Diana Gabaldon, and we have heard in multiple interviews now that the end of the show is not the end of the books.
So what does Gabaldon think about the ending the show has come up with? It feels like she is excited for viewers to see it; beyond just that, she feels like everyone should feel satisfied.

Speaking to TV Insider, here is more of what Gabaldon had to say on that particular subject:
“I think it’s an effective and satisfying ending … I’m beyond pleased that people have enjoyed the show so much all these years.”
One other interesting thing that came out of this interview is simply learning that none of the upcoming 10th book in the series is going to be adapted on-screen. In other words, people who still want surprises in Gabaldon’s story are going to get them. We do appreciate how committed she has been to finish her story, and also making sure that these books keep coming out on a fairly regular basis.
As for the future of the TV franchise, we do at least know that Blood of My Blood is coming back for a second season. Meanwhile, we do still want to think that there could be other spin-offs or off-shoots. Remember that there is always potential for there to be some sort of story all about Lord John, especially since that Gabaldon has written enough material out there that it could be easily adapted.
