‘MasterChef’ USA preview: An Eva Longoria appearance; words from the departed

MasterChefDoes it feel like forever since we’ve had a new episode of “MasterChef” air on TV? It certainly does to us, thanks to this past episode serving as a repeat. Luckily, we do know for sure now that there are still some big things coming up on the show moving forward, including an appearance from a certain celebrity that will definitely have some contestants in the room excited: Eva Longoria.

We’re assuming that Eva is there to judge a Mystery Box challenge based on the fact that she is hidden inside of a giant box, and the commentary from Eddie in the video below really makes this entire ordeal worthwhile. If the challenge somehow allows him to have a conversation with Eva Longoria, he may very well die on the spot.

For more on this, just check out the video below. Meanwhile as a bonus, we also have a few quotes below from recently-eliminated contestant Bime Cruz.

CarterMatt – Was it tough to sit back and watch that whole pressure test yet again after going through it?

It was hard to re-live that moment again. It was heartbreaking. But to get all of the support from everyone across America … It’s been really good. [Ultimately], it’s bittersweet.

Where you upset at all that Krissi was saying that you leaving was exactly what she had wanted to see happen?

The way I look at that was that it was me who messed up, it was me who switched the ingredients and put the cream of tartar in rather than the cornstarch. She got something out of the deal, but it was me who [messed up]. How she feels about that is how she feels about that.

Did being a dad help you on the show when it comes to dealing with criticism? We all know that kids can be the hardest critics.

Well the thing is that my kids, to them I’m the world’s greatest chef. Going into this I know that their opinion is [biased], but my kids love most everything that I do. But there is that time where I go in and experiment and try this new ingredient. They won’t say much, but you know; when there’s food left on the plate and they give you the ‘I’m full,’ you know they didn’t like it. That’s their criticism … I just know how to make food taste good. When it comes to technique and the execution of it, I was learning on the fly.

What did you think about getting to pay a visit to the ‘Glee’ set?

My kids love ‘Glee,’ and it was one of those things where I was psyched. Once I walked down the hall and I was seeing the signs, I was like ‘I know where I’m at; I’m at McKinley High!’. ‘Glee’ is like one of those shows that I watch with them, and I like the show. So to go there to do that was awesome. It was crazy.
