Even though we are most likely not seeing The Gilded Age season 4 premiere until we get around to the new year, there is still more news to share today!

Well, in a new post on Deadline discussing some of the promotions and recurring cast members for the HBO drama, there is also a logline, the first thing that gives us some reasonable information on what the future here could hold:

In Season 4 of The Gilded Age, Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) changed Society at a cost. Now, her family must reckon with the consequences as Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) seizes an opportunity to regain her position. Meanwhile, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) forges a new path for herself, and Peggy (Denée Benton) works to be accepted by her future in-laws. In this new era, you must be careful what you wish for.

If you watched the end of season 3, then you know that for Bertha in particular, one of the major stories is going to be tied to a possible divorce. She has already worked to try to make New York society more accepting to divorced women and now, she could be in that place herself. We do think that relationships will continue to be paramount to the city, but in what way?

Meanwhile, the comeback story for Agnes at this point could prove pretty entertaining. Just remember for a moment that she spent most of season 3 on the ropes, working to recover more from everything that happened to her back with the financial reversal and fortune. We do tend to think that there are more twists and turns coming for her and at this point, we welcome there.
