Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 premiere date: February update

Now that we are more than a week into February, doesn’t it feel like news on Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 is right around the corner?
Think about it through the following lens for a moment. Last year, a season 18 premiere date was revealed in March, even if we had to wait until May to actually see Paget Brewster, AJ Cook, and the rest of the cast back. At this point, we certainly think that the Paramount+ series could be operating on a similar timeline — as a matter of fact, we would not be stunned to get premiere-date news even sooner.

After all, Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 has been done filming for a little while now, and this is not one of those shows that takes a lot of time to turn around. There are, after all, no superhero battles or CGI dragons that needed to be rendered in! It certainly feels like a spring premiere is possible and that we will get more news sooner rather than later. (Last year, a season 19 renewal was confirmed before season 18 premiered; we would love to see something similar here when it comes to season 20.)
As for what the story is going to look like…
Well for starters, we tend to think it is going to begin with learning about whatever permutation of Elias Voit we are going to get this time around. Even if that character is polarizing, it is at least nice to see some sort of relative commitment to constantly shaking things up. Meanwhile, we do also think that Luke Alvez is going to get a nice story arc, which is nice given that he did not have that much to do over the past couple of seasons.
