The Hunting Wives season 2 spoilers: Angel Reese signs on

When it comes to surprising new cast members for The Hunting Wives season 2, we have to put WNBA star Angel Reese pretty darn high on the list!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the basketball star is going to be playing the role of “Trainer Barbie” at some point during the second season of the show. This news comes months after Reese praised the show on social media, generating a response from some behind the scenes. There is honestly something quite endearing about the producers bringing on board someone who first came on board as a fan, especially when this person is not necessarily known for acting.

For The Hunting Wives, this casting is a great way to build buzz for a show that is continuing to pick up viewers left and right. Meanwhile, for Reese this is yet another way to keep building her brand. She is one of a handful of WNBA stars who is looking to create a larger ecosystem around herself in between endorsements, social media, brand deals, and a whole lot more. A lot has changed in that sport over the past few years thanks to stars like her, Caitlin Clark, and Paige Bueckers.

Filming for the seconds season is currently underway and from where we stand, we certainly think it behooves the series to come out as soon as possible — provided it does not impede quality. In an era where there are a lot of other shows that take 2-3 years between seasons, there is some legitimate room for other series to scoop up people who don’t want to wait that long and wish to be on board some individual projects instead.
