Pluribus season 2 premiere date: Why Apple TV is patient

We are now weeks removed from the end of Pluribus season 1 over on Apple TV, and we do not blame anyone who wants more — and sooner rather than later.

With that being said, it does feel as though a lot of patience is going to be required to get from point A to point B. Vince Gilligan has noted that he and the rest of the team are hard at work planning the next chapter. Hopefully, this means that production will be starting up before we get close to the end of the year.

Now that we have said all of this, is Apple going to force the team to get the next season going sooner rather than later? The simple answer here is no, and for one simple reason: We are talking here about a streaming service that is more patient than almost any other out there. The company has so much money on the tech side of things that they do not need to force a show back solely for the sake of profits. Also, there is such a strong history of letting creatives do what they want to ensure quality. Take, for example, how long we were forced to wait to see more of Severance — some of that was due to the WGA / SAG-AFTRA strikes of 2023, but not all of it was. Meanwhile, we have seen something similar with Ted Lasso.

We tend to think that the hope for now is that Pluribus does return in 2027, and the ultimate thing we all do have to acknowledge here is quite simple: This is simply the new era of television. Some shows are simply going to take an incredibly long time to make. Others, such as The Pitt, are able to be made on more of an annual basis.
