Mayor of Kingstown season 5 renewal: A January 2026 update
Is there a chance that we are going to get more news on Mayor of Kingstown season 5 before the month of January comes to a close? There are, at least, reasons to hope so!
First and foremost, let’s begin by issuing a reminder that the latest chapter of the Jeremy Renner series recently ended and while some loose ends were tied up, others still remain — and it feels like there could easily be one more metaphorical kick at the can out here for the producers and cast to explore.

Here is where things get a little bit trickier. While we do remain hopeful that more Mayor of Kingstown is coming, we’ve seen with some Taylor Sheridan-produced shows that official renewals come out later than expected. Sometimes, they happen right before cameras actually start rolling! Good example of this is Lioness, which got its season 3 greenlight and started shooting shortly after.
With all of this in mind, don’t be shocked if we are waiting past January to get any sort of official greenlight on the future of this series. However, don’t view this as some serious evidence that Paramount is looking to end the show. It is always possible they do but with Renner himself suggesting in the past that season 5 could be the end, it makes a good bit more sense to see the whole story through.
When could another season premiere?
Ultimately, we’d be surprised if we see it before early 2027. While this is not one of those shows that takes a long period of time to make, you also don’t want to rush it — especially the writing process. So much of the success here is based almost exclusively on the story and its characters.
