NCIS season 23 episode 10: How long will Emily Wickersham be back?
We recognize already that we will be waiting until February to see NCIS season 23 episode 10 on CBS — and yes, that is a long wait. With that being said, at least we have a substantial tease to make it a little easier?
The return of Emily Wickersham last night as Ellie Bishop allowed us to have a legitimate surprise, as this is a former cast member who does have a long history with many members of the team — especially Nick Torres. She is now a fugitive, however, and it comes on the heels of a longstanding secret mission. Knight has been told by Vance to keep her mission a secret, but will she? That’s one question, with another being what Bishop has done in order to become such a target.

Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Steven D. Binder noted that Wickersham’s return is not a storyline that will be strung out, and the series’ February return will resolve much of what is going on:
We’re gonna run this story out and have it end, so expect to see her right now in one episode that will run it out. We have no official plans right now to continue that storyline, but we had a great time with Emily, and Emily had a great time here. So she’s sort of back on the roster, so to speak. But we’ve done some very long arc stories that have run out. This is not going to be one of them. We’re going to go right to what people want to see, and we’re going to have some closure, although that may or may not be what people want to see. We’ll find out.
Binder did go on to mention that the door always remains open for Wickersham to come back, but we imagine that we’ll have to see how episode 10 ends for anything more to creatively make sense.
