NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5: Dan Harmon, Ken Jeong returning to Comic-Con
After all of the creative dust has settled on what was definitely a super-crazy summer in the world of “Community” (which is starting to become the norm in many ways), the show will be returning to what is a pretty familiar destination at the end of the day: San Diego Comic-Con.
On Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that the likes of Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong, as well as executive producers Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna, will be in attendance at the popular convention on Sunday, July 21, the final day of the convention. This marks a return to the panel for Jeong as an actor, as well as for Harmon and McKenna, who were both clearly absent from the show last year over a little something that you all know about already. In terms of omissions, the most obvious one is star Joel McHale, who we are assuming has some sort of commitment elsewhere given his love for the convention in past years. (Donald Glover is also not present, but he really hasn’t done much of anything related to press for the show in the past couple of years.)
Among the topics that will surely be discussed? The creative changes will surely (pun intended for Shirley fans) come up, as well as some of the proposed challenges and changes to the show for the new season. We also really appreciate NBC and Sony actually allowing Harmon to be in attendance at this event, which we weren’t sure was going to happen based on some of his recent comments about season 4.
All in all, this is going to be a fun one. If you’re at the convention, you’ll want to attend; everyone else will just have to sit back and enjoy the madness from afar.
