NCIS: Origins season 2: Mark Harmon appearing in NCIS crossover

If you needed another reason to be excited about the upcoming crossover event between NCIS: Origins and the flagship NCIS, know this: Mark Harmon will be appearing!

For those who have yet to hear, the event is coming on November 11, with the prequel coming first at 8:00 p.m. Eastern with the flagship show coming one hour later. Harmon’s appearance will be coming during the first of the two hours.

In a statement, Origins co-showrunners David J. North and Gina Lucita Monreal had the following to say:

“Four years ago, Gibbs disappeared to Alaska to live a life of solitude … We know how much fans have missed seeing Mark and have wondered what Gibbs is up to today. Well, on Nov. 11, we’re so excited to announce that Mark Harmon will return as Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the ORIGINS hour of the NCIS crossover event. We don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say Gibbs is no longer alone.”

Meanwhile, Harmon himself had the following to add:

“I’m very proud of the storytelling that David and Gina are doing on ORIGINS … They continue to push boundaries and dive deeper into the characters’ backstories. They came to me with an idea for Gibbs that I liked, and it seemed like a good time to check in with him. I hope fans enjoy it.”

Does this “no longer alone” part mean that he could be with Lala? For now, that is the idea that we like the most, that he has realized during some of his time away that this is something that he would love. We know now that Lala did not die at the end of last season and because of that, doesn’t it lead to more possibilities?
