‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 spoilers: A debate on David Morrissey’s The Governor
The filming for “The Walking Dead” season 4 has been under way for several months now in the Atlanta, Georgia area, and being the ever-inquisitive type, we of course have all sorts of questions. For example: Will The Governor be around all season do horrible things to our cast of heroes or will only appear here and there?
In presenting the evidence that he will be a constant presence, the first thing that you really have to turn to here is the fact that David Morrissey is a series regular moving forward. This means that he will have to turn up fairly regularly, given that AMC would have otherwise wasted a lot of time and money, and we all know that wasting money makes executives cry. The major questions really surround when he will appear, and what sort of situation he will be in.
So with some lovely speculation on this subject, we turn to producer David Alpert, who raised quite a few questions on the character’s fate as a part of a new interview with Zap2It:
“What happened at the end of Season 3? He went kind of crazy, don’t you think? So he might have an army, or he might be living out alone in the woods. We don’t know. You’ll have to wait until October to find out.”
The only thing that is confirmed from this quote is what you already knew: “The Walking Dead” will be back at the same time it always is. For some bonus scoop, it’s fair to go ahead and imagine that The Governor’s return will equal him causing more problems, but this is not a rabbit that new showrunner Scott M. Gimple will pull out of his hat right away.
Do you think that The Governor is really seen as a force to be reckoned with? Given what we have seen from the character in the past, there is really no way that we can see him making nice-nice with Rick and his crew. We want to hear some of your thoughts below, and if you’re interested in checking out some more glorious “Walking Dead” news about the upcoming Comic-Con panel, you can do so over at the link here.
