‘Bates Motel’ season 2: Freddie Highmore and more to have Comic-Con panel
There’s always a place for horror at Comic-Con … or at least TV shows that creep you the bleep out, even if you’re not afraid of them. “Bates Motel” was a critical and commercial hit on A&E this year; heck, we enjoyed it so much that we want to see it grab an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. With all of this in mind, it really only makes sense that the show would want to travel to San Diego to highlight their cast, talk about what was, and also talk about what will be.
First, the basic details. The panel will take place on Saturday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific time, but the room in question is not currently known. The stars currently booked include Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore, Max Thieriot, Olivia Cooke, and Nestor Carbonell, and the executive producers that will be present are Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin.
Let’s get the inevitable out of the way here: How often do you think that someone in the audience will either try to ask Carlton or Nestor something about “Lost”? Given that there’s no panel for that anymore, fans have to get their questions in somewhere. We’re just happy for these two that they have come over to another show that is extremely well-done in its own right, and doesn’t have to deal with any of those comparisons.
Our only regret? That Jere Burns isn’t on the list, given that the man is all kinds of amazing in this show, and pretty much every other show that he’s ever done.
