‘Royal Pains’ season 5, episode 3 review: A Boris shocker and a Divya admission

Royal PainsEarlier this season on “Royal Pains,” we complained about not being a big fan of the whole Boris / Dimitri storyline … but that was before we realized that Boris was actually still alive. Is it fair to say that we were shocked? Definitely, and this in a split second made this story suddenly a million times more interesting.

Now, Hank is in an difficult position when it comes to trying to figure out how to help his longtime friend keep a secret long enough to figure out what is really going on with some people who would rather see him out of the picture.

There were also some other big developments this week when it comes to some of the other supporting characters on the show. Evan ended up waging yet another battle with the beast of the Hamptons known as Blythe, and he did not emerge victorious … for now. Instead, he decided to run for village council as a way to better stick it to her.

As for our old friends Jeremiah and Divya, we are pleased to report that they are on the up and up, at least for now. Dr. Sacani finally realized that hiding behind his beard and his distant personality, it actually was a better idea to open up to her, and in turn, he becomes the first male character on the show to learn of her pregnancy. But where in the world is Rafa in all of this? The fact that he is not really addressed in the middle of this story more than he has been is what makes us a little confused over the whole story, even if Divya doesn’t want him around. (Then again, we guess we don’t either, given that Jeremiah / Divya has been our desired endgame almost since the moment he first turned up on the scene.)

What did you think about this “Royal Pains” episode, and did you secretly believe for whatever reason that Boris was actually still alive? If you want to check out some more news in the world of the Hamptons, you can do so over at the link here.
