‘Real Housewives of Miami’ season 3: Joanna Kurpa and company go all out (video)

For the past two seasons, “The Real Housewives of Miami” has been the forgotten child of the Bravo family. It’s the version of the show that few people really talk about compared to the others, largely in our mind because their DVR schedules are already full, and there are really only so many wives that they can follow on a week-by-week basis.

With that being said, we do genuinely think that this is one of the crazier versions of the show that exists, mostly because you get the sense that these women really want the ratings to be higher, and thus, they are willing to take things to the next level. So you have accusations of witchcraft, people getting stuck in Death Valley, and women losing their bikini tops. Plus, there’s weddings. Since this show is not successful enough yet to have its own wedding-themed specials for some of the women, they just have to get hitched on this show. Terrible, right? Well, for us it’s a blessing, since we don’t have to watch a separate show, and you get the same drama.

As for the premiere date, you’re looking at Monday, August 12 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. Think of this as an appetizer for “The Voice” if you’re really waiting for that show to come back, or something to watch when the Orange County version of the show is over. To Andy Cohen’s credit, he’s stuck with these ladies even when the ratings have not been a home run. At times, that cannot be an easy thing to do.
