Comic-Con 2013: ‘Arrow’ season 2, ‘The Following’ season 2 change things up

Comic-ConLast year, “Arrow” and “The Following” were two of the new series featured at San Diego Comic-Con, and neither of them had much going for them in terms of what viewers could expect. No one among the masses had seen anything about the shows save for trailers, and while you may have known some of the cast members, you didn’t quite know the roles.

However, this has changed in a big way moving forward to this year. Both of these shows are highlights among the Warner Bros. series that will be present at the show, and they each are also going to have a presence that differs somewhat from the year before.

For example, “Arrow” this year will be adding to its panel new series regulars Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak) and Colton Haynes (Roy Harper), but surprisingly, Willa Holland (Thea Queen) is not joining the likes of Stephen Amell (Oliver), Katie Cassidy (Laurel), or David Ramsey (Diggle). Meanwhile executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg will each be present for the event. This panel will be held on Saturday, July 20, but the location is not clear just yet.

The panel for “The Following” season 2 is a little different, given that Kevin Williamson doesn’t want to give away just yet who will be alive when the new season really gets going. Therefore, don’t expect anything from either Natalie Zea (Claire) or James Purefoy (Joe Carroll). Instead, the acting side of the panel will feature star Kevin Bacon (obviously still alive) along with Shawn Ashmore and Valorie Curry. Williamson and Marcos Siega will make up the producing side of the event on Friday, July 19.
