NBC’s ‘Parenthood’ season 5 spoilers: Ray Romano to return for sizable arc
Anyone who loves Ray Romano has to smile about this news: The veteran actor, who has shown off a great knack for drama after being known so long for just “Everybody Loves Raymond,” will be back for a pretty decent chunk of “Parenthood” season 5.
This news was first confirmed in a new report from TVLine, along with the news that Romano will appear in somewhere between 12 and 15 episodes. While last year this would mean that he was a part of almost every episode, you have to remember that this time around, the NBC series has a full order of 22 episodes. What does this mean? There are a few possibilities:
1. Hank and Sarah (who was given an opportunity to move to Minnesota with him at the end of last season) end up breaking up, or there is some other occasion that keeps the two of them apart.
2. Hank’s arc is not something that requires Romano for every episode, and he could be stretched out all season long.
3. Sarah takes a break from Hank, and then ends up coming back to him later.
Regardless of what happens with the character, we’re personally jumping up and down internally at the thought of seeing more of Romano, given how sad we were when “Men of a Certain Age” was canceled. He seems to excel within these sort of family-drama environments, and we are thus beyond excited to see where the story heads with him and Lauren Graham’s character here.
What is your reaction to seeing Romano come back on the show this year? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! Also, be sure to visit the link here if you want to read some more news on a big season for Sarah.
