‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 5 spoilers: What the 100th episode means

NCIS LAAnytime that you are a television series that makes it to the 100-episode plateau, this is something that really calls for a grand celebration. In the literal sense, we’re talking about a red-carpet event that includes getting the press to gather, and sharing some of your thoughts on why your series is special enough to make it to that point.

In the more figurative sense, one of the reasons why making it to the 100th episode is so important is that it allows you to have a very different sort of episode to put on TV. Take, for example, what “NCIS: Los Angeles” is getting ready to do in order to celebrate.

Speaking in an interview with TVLine, executive producer Shane Brennan teases that with this particular installment (which will be the fourth episode of this season), that plan at the moment is to “play with the show’s format a little.” For anyone who watches 100 episodes of the same exact thing, we like to believe that this is reason to let out a major sigh of relief.

As for some other hints about the story, Brennan teases that this episode is going to do more than just give us a supremely entertaining hour of TV. It’s also going to provide an opportunity to start up a story that will hopefully carry through most of the rest of the way this season.

What do you think “NCIS: Los Angeles” should do in celebration of its 100th episode? We want to hear your thoughts below! Also, if you want to check out some more scoop on the road ahead for “NCIS” proper, our advice is to head on over to the link here.
