Tomorrow, the entire city of Toronto will be a little bit busier than it is today. Why is that? Thank the MuchMusic Video Awards, which is one of the biggest parties for young people in Canada’s largest city. There is music, celebrities, and an opportunity for many locals to see stars that they don’t really get to see the rest of the year. (The Toronto International Film Festival typically brings in a little bit of a different crowd.)
So at this point, many of the big personalities and performers are coming into town to prepare. Fresh off of her stint judging “The X Factor” in New Orleans, Demi Lovato has already arrived; meanwhile, so has “The Big Bang Theory” star Kunal Nayyar. Shay Mitchell of “Pretty Little Liars” has also turned up, and she is one of the two actors from that show set to make an appearance. (Lucy Hale will be joining her.)
The 2013 MMVAs definitely have a little bit of a different feel to them than they have in past years; while the network typically chooses to go with young people like Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, or the Jonas Brothers to serve as co-hosts along with some of their own DJs, this time around they have opted to feature none other than Korean rapper Psy, the man behind “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman.” (Personally, we just don’t really get the dance moves to the latter, since you’re really just swaying in place.)
We’ll have near-constant coverage of the awards show all day tomorrow, so be sure to check back to CarterMatt for awards, red-carpet arrivals, and more as your top source on the net.
